Apple Granola

Prep Time: 10 mins   Cooking Time: ~30 mins

Granola is a staple in our home whether its to top our yogurt, added to a trail mix, used as cereal, melt with chocolate or just eaten by the handful. I promise the flavor will not disappoint!

Ingredients

  • 1 apple chopped small

  • juice from 1/2 lemon

  • 2 c oats

  • 2 tbsp ground flax

  • 1 c nuts chopped (I love walnuts, cashews, pecans)

  • cinnamon

  • dash of nutmeg

  • dash of salt

  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Melt the coconut oil & allow to cool, then add the maple syrup

  3. Chop the apples and place in a bowl & add the juice from the lemon & some cinnamon. 

  4. Combine the dry ingredient & spices in a separate bowl & then add the apples & mix.

  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper & spread the mixture onto the sheet. 

  6. Bake for 10 minutes.

  7. Remove from the oven and pour the coconut oil/maple syrup mixture evenly &mix.

  8. Once again, spread out the mixture evenly & return to the oven for about 15-20 minutes.

  9. Remove & allow to cool.

  10. Store in mason jar, baggies or seel tight container.

  11. ENJOY!
