Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Prep Time: 5 mins   Cooking Time: ~10 mins

This is a great way to start your day with all the fall feels and lots of nutrients that will keep you feeing full and satisfied!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c oats

  • 1/2 c almond or coconut milk

  • 1/2 c water

  • 1/2 apple chopped 

  • 1 tbsp ground flax

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon

  • dash of nutmeg

  • dash of salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla (and/or 1 scoop of vanilla Complete protein powder)

  • Sprinkle of coconut sugar or brown sugar (optional)

Add-ins:

  • chocolate chips 

  • coconut flakes

  • pecans in place of walnuts

directions

  1. Bring the milk + water and salt to a boil.

  2. Combine the oats, flax, chia & seasonings in a bowl.

  3. Add to the boiling liquid & lower heat. 

  4. Stir in the apples & place a lid on the pot.

  5. Cook for approximately 5-7 minutes or until the oats have absorbed.

  6. Remove from heat.

  7. Stir in the maple syrup & vanilla or vanilla powder.

  8. Top with the walnuts & a sprinkle of coconut or brown sugar.

  9. ENJOY!
